Firefox extensions making life easier

I decided I am going to start out by posting brief tools and tips that I find are essential to being as productive as possible while working online. It may not be new information, but if it helps just one person it's worth writing about. Eventually, you will see how I use these tools together to accomplish certain tasks, and if I gain any regular readers, maybe you will come up with your own methods you would like to share.

I use both a Mac and PC to do all of my work. The majority of my actual web surfing is done on my Mac. Safari has always been my browser of choice, but something happened to it. It got buggy, and kept hanging up with the spinning rainbow wheel, even when trying to visit the most simple of websites like Google. I basically had to trash Safari and start using Firefox.

I found myself wanting to experiment with a bunch of ideas that required massive amounts of forms to be filled out, and there was no way I was going to be able to do it all by hand. I was considering looking into the program Roboform, and I still don't know if they make a version for Mac, but just when I needed it most, my friend turned me onto this Firefox extension which is pretty much the best thing to ever happen to me since my girlfriend. The Firefox extension is free and it's here: Fireform .

It's basically great for any type of repetitive task that requires multiple numbers of the same type of forms to be filled out. Perfect for those situations where you wish there was a program you could buy, but no one has developed it yet. I'm finding new uses for it all the time, and now I have no desire to go back to Safari. Enjoy.

I'm sorry Wordpress, but I just can't stand you.

This website is fairly new. I have pretty big plans for it, but I haven't done much with it since the domain was registered.

Originally, I installed Wordpress because I wanted to get a better understanding of the blogging software. I have it installed on a few other blogs, but there was something about it I didn't like. I figured, maybe I just need to use it more, or maybe I just don't have the hang of it yet. So, I installed the software, picked out a template, and the site just stayed stagnant for a while.

I kept thinking about all these articles, tips and tutorials I wanted to write about, but I just couldn't begin as something just wasn't settling with the site and I felt I needed to do something, I just didn't know what it was.

Then Wordpress updated again, and it all became clear. I updated to the latest version on one of my other blogs. All of the advertising disappeared. All of my link trades were gone. Even though I deactivated my RSS feed aggregator, all of the feeds broke, and I basically had to add them all again. The last thing that I noticed, about 12 hours after I thought I had fixed everything, the update wrote over my .htaccess file that isn't even in the same directory as the blog itself, basically leaving error traffic and php redirects going nowhere.

This has happened before, and I forgot why I hate updating to the latest version. What I thought was going to be a simple upgrade turned into an evening of headache. I might as well have started the blog completely over from scratch, and there's nothing I hate more than having to do the same work over again.

So, here we are with a new layout on a different CMS. I decided to go with Joomla because I just like it. It doesn't really matter much as I doubt anyone has even visited this site, but my mind is now at ease.

The site is called Exploit Automation. We will be exploring various ways of making money online, and I intend on posting various tips, tricks, proven practices, reviews, news and random thoughts. I'm no expert, but I've been working online full-time for a couple years now. If anyone wants to contribute, exchange links, or share more productive methods, feel free to contact me. I encourage everyone interested in exchanging their ideas. I'm going to get to work now. Thanks. Nathan.
